Instructional Designer – QuickBooks Textbooks
Job Snapshot:
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Remote work is a possibility)

The Sleeter Group is looking for an instructional designer to assist in updating our QuickBooks college textbooks, QuickBooks Reference Guide for accounting professionals and student assessments. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, independent worker who is extremely detail-oriented and likes working in and around technology. Some projects may require long hours and flexibility in work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Update textbook and supplemental material for QuickBooks textbooks and QuickBooks reference manuals
- Write / develop student tests
- Develop / update exercise files in QuickBooks and export screen captures of the exercises
- Develop / update PowerPoint presentations for instructor resources
- Proof-read and error-check written material
- Build and distill large documents using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other tools
- Build, format, and test Tables of Contents, Indexes, page layouts, headers and footers using Microsoft Word
- Assist with other non-writing projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (accounting or writing degree preferred)
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, work independently, and take ownership of job functions and tasks
- Excellent technical writing skills required
- Experience with writing curriculum or technical materials, exhibiting accuracy, completeness, relevance and readability with high attention to detail
- Expert Microsoft Word for Windows skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Word 2010 with large documents, including Master Documents, Headers/Footers, Tables, Figures, Indexing, Graphics, and strict use of Styles
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Experience Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign is desired
- Experience with EPUB digital document creation is desired
- Classroom or other teaching experience desired

Event Planner
Job Snapshot:
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Employee Type: Full Time
Compensation: Salary, health plan, disability insurance, vacation, 401K
The Sleeter Group is looking for an experienced event professional to assist with the management of seminars and conferences. The successful candidate will have extensive event experience and the ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects, and prioritize multiple tasks. As well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities include management or assistance in the following areas:
- Update and maintain project timeline and project task lists
- Venue selection and contract negotiation
- Speaker coordination
- Vendor management
- Name badge preparation
- Pre-event and on-site registration
- On-site duties at annual conference
- Continuing Education program management
- Work with Exhibitors to ensure all deliverables are met
- Update Exhibitor Prospectus, Brochures and Program Guides
- Hotel liaison for food and beverage, guest room block, audio visual, etc.
- Assist management with additional special projects as required.
- Some additional administrative duties will be required
Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years' experience in event planning/production
- Must be available for occasional overtime, as needed, some travel required
- Successful candidate will enjoy working in small office environment
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe PDF
- Experience with HTML, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator preferred
- Work full time in our Pleasanton, CA office
