Sleeter Consultants provide the critical glue — consulting and implementation services — that connects technology solutions to the needs of small- to medium-sized business clients.

The Sleeter Group was established in 1994 and is based in Pleasanton, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Doug Sleeter's in-depth knowledge of accounting software solutions and his "systems" approach to solving accounting problems for the SMB market have earned him the reputation of being one of the nation's leading small business accounting software experts. He has been named one of the "Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting" by Accounting Today magazine and he was recently recognized by The CPA Practice Advisor magazine as one of the accounting profession's "Top 25 Thought Leaders."

Doug has consulted with Intuit on the development of the QuickBooks product line and also consults with dozens of other software and hardware developers on product design, marketing, and distribution strategies.

Prior to starting The Sleeter Group, Doug had extensive experience both as a staff accountant at several accounting Thought leaderfirms, and in the software industry working with industry leaders such as Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Silicon Graphics, and Quorum Software.

Doug provides expert-level consulting to hundreds of accounting software consultants through the Sleeter Group Consultants Network, a group of highly trained experts. He is the host of The Sleeter Group's annual Accounting Solutions Conference, bringing together consultants and software developers from across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Doug is the author of over 40 reference books and courseware materials, and writes a regular column, "Successful Small Business Consulting," for The CPA Practice Advisor magazine. Sherrill Sleeter is Co-Founder and Vice President of The Sleeter Group. Sherrill serves as director of business operations, manages the Sleeter Group's marketing and distribution channels, and is the event director for seminars and conferences. Sherrill has more than 20 years of experience in software project implementation, hospital information systems, systems analysis, and facilitation of software training programs. Sherrill has many years of experience planning, marketing, and executing seminars for end users and for accounting professionals. Sherrill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University East Bay and is a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma Society. Nathan Fochler serves as Marketing Assistant for The Sleeter Group. He joined the company in early 2007. Nathan handles all aspects of customer service including administration of the company's online Web store, Amazon and QuickBooks Affiliate programs, purchasing, product inventory, college textbook program, customer technical support, customer returns, Yahoo! and LinkedIn memberships, Sleeter Group Consultants Network, and event registrations. Casey Miller joined The Sleeter Group team in early 2008. Casey serves as our Conference Event Specialist assisting with exhibit sales, speaker coordination, pre-event planning, hotel communications and on-site event coordination. Deborah Pembrook serves as the Educational Products Manager for The Sleeter Group. She joined the company in 2006. Deborah manages the writing team for The Sleeter Group's Learning QuickBooks Step-by-Step series, The QuickBooks Complete college textbooks, and The QuickBooks Consultant's Reference Guide. Joy Prado serves as The Sleeter Group’s Bookkeeper. She joined the company in 2010. Joy came to The Sleeter Group with a variety of accounting skills gained while working at firms such as Blymyer Engineers, Inc., ENV America, Inc., Dillingham Construction, and Sysco. Sheetal Reddy is The Sleeter Group's Marketing Assistant. Sheetal joined the team in 2008. Sheetal maintains The Sleeter Group's Web sites, handles our graphic design projects, is our annual Conference Exhibitor Liaison, assists with e-mail messaging, Conference special projects, NASBA renewal, customer service and technical support. Charlie Russell is the Managing Editor of the QuickBooks and Beyond blog for The Sleeter Group. He's been involved with the small business software industry since the mid-70s, focusing on inventory and accounting software. He founded MC Software, one of the early accounting and inventory control software companies for CP/M- and DOS-based small business computers. His current company, CCRSoftware, produces QuickBooks-compatible add-on software, and is a Gold member of the Intuit Developer Network. Charlie has been blogging about QuickBooks since 2008 in his Practical QuickBooks blog, as well as for the Intuit Small Business Blog. He is a Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
